8.5. The steering mechanism (with the amplifier)

The scheme of a steering with amplifier EPHS (Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering)

The amplifier is equipped шестеренчатым by the pump with a drive from the electric motor. A receiver with valves, the pump and the electric motor form the pump unit. The block of management of the amplifier on the basis of speed of turn of a steering wheel, speed of movement of the car and frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft regulates volume of a submitted liquid in system at the expense of change of frequency of rotation of a shaft of the electric motor of a drive of the pump.

Protection of inclusion of the pump unit in case of malfunction of elements of the amplifier, an onboard network of the car, an overheat of the pump unit or road and transport incident is provided. After operation of protection as a result of an overheat of the pump unit it can be disconnected, having switched off ignition and repeatedly having started up the engine through 15–20 mines (that the pump unit has cooled down).

In other cases protection is necessary for disconnecting, having cleared contents of memory of malfunctions (at servicing deport).
The prevention
The steering mechanism is not subject to repair, in case of malfunction it is necessary to replace it in gathering. At replacement of the steering mechanism disconnect from it steering draughts (subsection 8.5.4 see).
